
Phonebooth are a Rock’n'roll band from South Korea, formed in 2005 by five schoolmates from the same high school. They did a tour of Asia right after they released their demo album. The band recorded a demo, and uploaded on youtube and myspace and then tried to contact labels, festivals, clubs in Asia without anyone’s help. And then they became to play at Fat Festival in Thailand, Ho-Hai-Yan Rock Festival in Taiwan!
And also, a club tour in Japan. 12 Clubs, 7 Cities. After the tour, they released their first debut full-length album, “The way to Live On”. Despite it was their debut album, this album was full of skilled play. Surely, spirits and passion were inevitable for the first Album.
Then in 2010, they released their second album, ‘By me, For me, Of me’, mastered at Metropolis Studio in London, This album sounded much richer than the first one, including a better list of songs.
Three years later in 2014, they released their third full length album “Wonder”. They completed this album based of guitar sound as if they are rebelling against the recent trend of electronic dance music. While recording the album, they tried to capture essence the original Rock music.
After releasing their third album, Phonebooth tried to communicate with fans in various ways. Through Social Networking Services such as Twitter and Facebook. They asked fans on Facebook to say their favorite Phonebooth songs, or to choose clothes to wear and etc.
They also tried to make better performance. They decorated the stage with paintings they made, they ask fans to play instruments together. In 2014, they held a small concert for fans, because one of summer festivals they were scheduled to play were cancelled.
With more than 30 original Phonebooth songs, their set lists are always different, they always prepare enjoyable performance for fans. And this is the strongest point they have. Great songs with amazing performance!
