About Vladivostok

Former closed city and military port at the shore of the Japanese sea, goes through its second birth after APEC 2012 summit. Vladivostok must be seen because of music, bridges, islands, and most certainly people.

Where to stay

There are several hotels which are located within walking distance from the embankment and city beach: A Hotel Amur Bay and AZIMUT Hotel Vladivostok 4*.

What to see

“Zolotoy” and “Russkiy” bridges that were built during APEC 2012 summit. The most stunning view of the city and the bridges is from panoramic square near the statue of “Kiril and Mefodiy”. Getting there is possible by taking a cable car. Also renewed “Arseniev’s museum of local history” on Svetlanskaya street, Vladivostok’s Fortress and its forts, pedestrian Fokin street — neighborhood of “Millionka” (used to be an area of Chinese contrabands and opium-houses), house of Eleanor Prey (several historic books were based on her letters and photos about Vladivostok of the beginning of 20th century), statue to the Vladivostok native — actor and oscar-winner Yul Brynner, family museum of revolutionist Suhanov, FEFU campus on Russkiy island, marine and railroad stations, numerous beaches and the eldest far eastern lighthouse at Tokarevskaya Koshka.

When to visit

August and September – the most hottest months for the vacation at the beach. Visiting islands — “Russkiy” island can be reached by taking a road through the new cable-stayed bridge. “Elena”, “Popov” or “Reineke” can be reached by ferry, motorboat or yacht. Also an ideal place for spending time at the beach is, “Lazurnaya” (Shamora) bay, that was immortalized by Mumiy Troll with their songs.

Where to eat and have fun

It’s a must to try far-east cuisine (laminaria borsch, soup -uha, scallops and fern), as well as real Chinese cuisine, prepared by Chinese migrants. For local street fast-food, you should try Pyanse (Korean steamed bun with cabbage and meat stuffing and spices).

Night life of Vladivostok is very friendly. V-ROX festival events will take place at VVO Project clubs, partners of the festival: Mumiy Troll Music Bar, Paulaner Bräuhaus hosted with live music; Street Bar and Druzhba Bar hosted with electronic music and dancing until sunrise; Salon hosted with acoustic performances from singer-songwriters and karaoke.
